- The poultry sector is one of the fastest-growing agricultural sectors in Africa, with an average 10-year growth rate of 40.9% in Africa compared with 36.2% worldwide from 1961 to 2021.Â
- Chickens accounted for 97.0% of Africa’s total poultry numbers in 2022, contributing 83.0% and 99.8% of poultry meat and egg production, respectively.Â
